Leo Liu launched his journey in youth sports as a sixth grader, founding the "Super Meteors", a nonprofit youth basketball organization born from his own underwhelming middle‑school basketball experience. Determined to change the game, by late 2023 the organization had grown to 20 branches across 15 states
In early 2024, Leo took on a regional leadership role within the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), becoming Director of Basketball for the AAU Northeast Conference—overseeing operations across eight states including New York, Massachusetts, and beyond
Building on his vision of inclusion and equitable access, Leo now spearheads Level the Field, a groundbreaking initiative aiming to create an inclusive sporting culture where every participant—regardless of background, identity, or ability—is valued, respected, and treated with dignity.
This initiative aligns closely with his broader mission of using sport as a universal force for inclusion, peace, and mutual understanding.
