As a special tribute, AUP is presenting an online version of BOUNCE: The Don Barksdale Story for viewers seeking to learn more about the life of this American sports and entertainment pioneer from Berkeley, California.

Don Barksdale, a longtime supporter of Athletes United for Peace was a popular world class athlete, and in his later years was a true advcate of high school sports in the Bay Area through his Save High School Sports Foundation based in Oakland, California. This compelling documentary was aired regionally on FOX Sports Net Bay Area in 2007, and received the 2008 Beacon Award from the Association of Cable Communicators for Best Single Program.

The documentary was the outcome from extensive research by Bay Area fdocumentary filmmaker Doug Harris for his master of arts degree from California State University Monterey Bay (1998). The film features in-depth interviews with a list of sports and entertainment personalities that include: Johnny Otis, Pete Escovedo, Lou Rawls, Joe Morgan, Al Attles, Nate Thurmond, Jason Kidd, Gary Payton and many others. The documentary was co-produced by Jacques Bronson and Pam Barksdale-Gore.
